Jock Comini Reserve

Jock Comini Rest Area, situated on the Calder Freeway in Ravenswood, is a series of interlocking individual cubicles with a ribbon wall that threads along the contour creating a linear building that sinks into the landscape. The facilities has a rounded structure with a flat roof that is enhanced by the use of glazed and stainless steel walls, reflecting and transmitting the muted colours of the surrounding bushland. The natural environmental elements that surround promote the vibrancy of the facilities. The project has received the following awards: 2019 AIA Victorian Chapter Small Projects Award, 2019 AIA National Awards Small Project Architecture Named Award The Nicholas Murcutt Award.
