What we do
Conceptual Design
We provide conceptual advice for projects, as early as possible, to work with the architect and cost planners to determine the most appropriate engineering solutions. This will ensure cost and time effective, as well as buildable, design systems are applied to each project. From our comprehensive project experience over the years, we fully understand that the most significant cost efficiencies available for any project are achieved at this conceptual design stage. We like to be engaged as early in the design phase as possible to ensure we can provide the smoothest documentation process and maximise the efficiency of the engineering solutions.
Contract Documentation
We design and document projects thoroughly, considering all appropriate engineering solutions and offering advice throughout the process to suit the architect’s requirements. We also offer any cost effective or alternate buildable solutions where considered appropriate. Our documentation does not just consist of ‘standard’ details, but includes project specific detailing co-ordinated with the architect. We pride ourselves on our responsive, tailored solutions and our approachable manner that ensures all projects are designed utilising the best of our abilities and experience. Every single project is designed and documented in-house with a strong focus on efficiency, accuracy and quality.
Certification
We can provide in-house certification of design documentation on all projects, which is signed off by one of the company directors, to meet the regulatory requirements for the purpose of obtaining a building permit.
Construction
We can offer advice throughout the construction stage of the project, including undertaking periodic site inspections to observe accord with the design intent, responding to site queries and reviewing shop fabrication drawings. We are happy to be actively involved in the construction process, being responsive to builders’ queries and offering advice where required.
3D design
Some of the technologies we utilise are:
Revit: a 3D design software that combines features for architectural design, structural engineering, and construction, in a single comprehensive application. We prefer to generate our model later in the design stages once the architectural design is locked in and the model can then become a realistic 3D replica of the 2D plans.
Civil 3D: a 3D civil design software that allows our engineers to perform effective design iterations and streamline time-consuming tasks. We find this software particularly beneficial on large, sloping sites.
